Yoga specifically designed for dancers’ bodies and needs. This practice combines traditional yoga poses with dancer-specific stretches, strengthening exercises, and alignment work. Address common dancer concerns: tight hips, hamstring flexibility, core strength, ankle stability, upper body weakness, and injury prevention. Improve your balance, turnout, extensions, and overall dance performance through mindful yoga practice. With a BA in Dance from Hope College, 25+ years of dance training across multiple styles, and specialized training in “Yoga Meets Dance,” Krista understands exactly what dancers need to stay healthy, flexible, and strong. What to expect: Dynamic warm-up, yoga flows incorporating dance-relevant stretches, targeted work on hips/hamstrings/back/ankles, core strengthening, balance challenges, flexibility development, cool-down with deep stretches dancers crave. Perfect for: Ballet, tap, modern, and musical theatre dancers at any level; anyone wanting to improve flexibility and strength for dance; dancers recovering from or preventing injury. Benefits: Improved flexibility (especially hip opening and hamstring length), stronger core for better balance and turns, increased body awareness for injury prevention, enhanced breath control for performance, mental focus and stress management. What to bring: Yoga mat, water, wear dance clothes or comfortable athletic wear.
